A closer look at rhinoplasty in South Korea
Your stay in Korea

How will I manage recovery away from home?

Plan the practical parts of treatment abroad: appointments, help, communication, accommodation and the journey home.

Build the trip around the clinical follow-up plan. Ask your surgeon when you need to be examined, what help you will need and what might delay your return. A travel package or hotel booking does not replace an individual recovery plan.

Before booking travel

Ask the clinic for an appointment sequence covering the consultation, operation, early checks and assessment before departure. Confirm the address of each appointment and how you will get there. Choose accommodation with recovery and access to the clinic in mind. Ask who can assist you after discharge and what support the clinic does and does not arrange.

During your stay

Keep the team’s contact details, instructions and medication information somewhere easy to access. Ask for instructions in a language you understand and a clear explanation of when to call. Make practical arrangements for food, transport and help rather than relying on sightseeing plans. Follow the treating team’s advice about activity and wound care.

Before you leave Korea

Ask the surgeon to assess whether you are ready to travel. Confirm how follow-up will continue, how you can share concerns securely and what needs an in-person examination. Request a treatment summary and relevant operative or implant details for future care. Keep enough flexibility for an additional visit if the team recommends it.

Bring these questions to the surgeon.

  • Which appointments must I attend before leaving Korea?
  • What help will I need after discharge, and who will provide it?
  • What could mean I need to stay longer?
  • What records and contact details will I receive before departure?
