Trust & communication

How do I know who to trust with my surgery?

Know the surgeon, understand their relevant experience, and make sure the consultation gives you answers you can use.

The clinic name is only the starting point. Ask who will perform your operation, meet that surgeon, and discuss their experience with your particular concern. Clarify anesthesia, communication, follow-up and the written plan before making a commitment.

Connect the name to the operation

A clinic may have several doctors with different roles. Ask for the full name and qualifications of the surgeon responsible for your nose and whether that person will perform the proposed procedure. Use their profile to prepare questions about relevant training and experience. Do not assume every clinician at the same practice provides the same treatment.

Make the consultation understandable

Ask how interpretation will work when you meet the surgeon, review consent and receive discharge instructions. A coordinator can help arrange an appointment, but clinical questions belong with the treating team. Explain your priorities in your own words, then ask the surgeon to repeat the agreed goals and limits. Request a written explanation you can understand and keep.

Make room for an unhurried decision

Ask about alternatives, the option of no surgery, risks and what would happen if you are dissatisfied. Separate a treatment recommendation from any deadline for a discount or deposit. A quote should identify the procedure and surgeon, included services, possible additional fees and cancellation terms. If a central question remains unanswered, arrange another discussion before committing.

Bring these questions to the surgeon.

  • Will I meet the surgeon who will perform my operation before deciding?
  • What experience do you have with noses and concerns similar to mine?
  • Who is responsible for anesthesia and postoperative medical decisions?
  • Who will interpret clinical discussions, consent and aftercare instructions?
